First live-show in… forever.

This week sees me walk on to the stage and perform [facebook-event] for a group of people for the first time since 2005. Granted, it is not a show of my own. I am going to be a part of the new 047 album, Elva, release gig, as I am singing on one of the tracks.
Do not feel nervous just yet, but think I might. Not only because it has been a long time since I performed, but also because I will not have a guitar (or drums for that matter) covering me, so to speak. Just me and a mic.

If you are in Gothenburg, Sweden on the 10:th of June, do pop by.

Recording with 047.

Yes, following our song ‘Let You Go‘ [spotify link] and remembering the ease with which it was created, the guys in 047 and I decided to record some more. So, today, I was over at their place and recorded the basics for two tracks. (As I talked about in this interview.) When these two songs will be finished and where they will pop up (if at all) remains to be seen.

Back to ‘Let You Go’; here’s some of the places where you can find it:

YouTube, Vimeo, Last.fm, Sound Cloud, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, WiMP.
Released via Killing Music.

Let You Go!

Today sees the release of 047 (feat. Tomas Halberstad)’s new single ‘Let You Go’!
The single is a collaboration between the guys in 047 and myself. We think it turned out super! And, we hope you do to.
The song is released via Killing Music and will, as of today, be available in all major digital music outlets.

Enjoy!

Or, if your vimeo-kind-of person. Here’s a link to the video on vimeo!

I’m Sorry and Recording and…

First off: I’m sorry for the poor state this blog is in. Truly looks awful. I will look into it. Get it sorted. Soon. Not now though. It’s Christmas-time. Lots to do.

Yesterday I recorded some vocals for a song that I’ve co-written with the guys in 047. The song will most likely feature on an upcoming EP of theirs. I don’t know when or how, but when I do I’ll let you know.

As for my own album: we’re working on it! Rough-mixes are dropping into my mailbox by the day and soon I’ll have them all (10 of them). Then we’ll start fixing things, recording some more tracks, recording vocals a.s.o. Aiming for a September release. (Too optimistic?)

Lars-Martin and I have started talking about doing some music together under a joint name. We’re probably heading in to the studio in January to see if we can get started. The idea is, if we want to record big drums, we record big drums… kind of. Any progress or result on that, and I’ll let you know.

That’s about it.

Merry Christmas everybody!

10/10/10 10:10:10 Collaboration.

Sunday, the crappiest of days, is upon us; soon past us (thank you).

Two cool things about today though.
1. Today the date was 10/1o/10 and at one point (well several taking into account that the world has 24 time-zones) the time was 10:10:10.
2. I got the first mix/production/sketch of the song; the collaboration between 047 and myself. (Not the one mentioned below.) Sounds nice. Clearly not a song written by only me, nor by only them. The sound of collaboration is upon us.

This Week + Future Music.

The week is trotting along at a fairly comfortable tempo. Not much happening and not much getting done. I set out with grand ambitions but the fruits of those ambitions are three thoughts and a read paper. Tomorrow I’ll read another paper, maybe two. And, on Friday I’ll go for some study guidance (if that’s what it’s called; I’ll go to see a guy about my future studies, the next two years. I’ll tell hi what I’d like to do; where I’d like to end up, he’ll tell me how to do it; to get there… I hope).

Music-wise I’ve been talking the talk.
Talking with Lars-Martin about recording two songs. I’ve written two, and have a vision. It’s going to be drums, synth-bass, spanish guitar, up-right piano and lots of space. (And, vocals.)
I’ve also been talking to 047 about swimming a bit further out into the waters in which we are right now just splashing with our bare feet. (A few weeks back I was in the 047 studio – sort of – and delivered the frame-work for a song. Their going to produce it and then I’ll come back and lay some vocals. If all goes we’ll the song’ll end up on an upcoming EP of theirs.) I have a couple of songs that I don’t know what to do with. I’m thinking their aesthetics could fit them. We’ll see.

047 and I.

Since Punk of Country (the band I used to play in) called it quits, I haven’t really collaborated with anyone in making music. Sure, I’ve been produced and stuff but by then; when the production-part of song-making comes to be, the song is more or less finished.

This is all about to change, albeit for just one song.

I’ve just now been sitting by my computer laying down the first basic tracks, or demo-tracks, to a song I am writing with chip-music extraordinaire’s 047 (or as they’re called in Swedish 047).

Don’t know what will come of this. But, when anything comes through, I’ll let you know how to get hold of it. In the mean time, here’s 047 super hit song Ankan (The Duck).
