Does not get much better than this. Great song+Great sounds=Me like! (Thanks to Johan for the tip!)

High-pitch common sense…
Todays Saturday but for a student with an exam coming up, Saturday is just another name for the same day, study day. Also, if you did not get that, I am such a student.
I think the high-pitch noise in my ear is a little less loud today. Let’s hope it keeps on diminishing; decaying until I finally only have my usual level of high-pitch noise in my ear (sustained while 15 years old, playing drums with a grunge band, with the amps on 11, no ear plugs and in a non-dampened 12 sq./m room).
Now I am going to focus on G.E. Moore and his defence of Common-Sense (which to me does not seem like any defence at all, just a statement, or a stating of opinion, loosely founded on language and not at all acknowledging experience which he still counts as a factor).
Somatic Tinnitus?
If I’m not misinformed, one can get Somatic Tinnitus from being tense, or having tense muscles, in the head and neck region.
I have a tense neck.
Last Saturday I bought myself a new pillow. A pillow, which was, it turned out, too high; too thick. I thought my bodies aversion for it would end if I just kept on sleeping on it. I had a similar thing happen when I bought a new bed. Felt like crap the first few days and then I got used to it; liked it. So I slept on the crap pillow for three days. Getting less and lighter, sleep while doing it. Not good. My neck hurt after night one but I thought I should be persistent. Now I’m super tense and I have a high pitch noise in my left ear. Not pleasant. Not pleasant at all.
I have now changed back to my old pillow. My non-high-pitch noise inducing pillow.
Let’s hope this shit comes to an end.
The world is swaying.
Just a quick little update:
I’m sick! Or something. Feel really wired. Dizzy. This afternoon I had a massive head ache. My stomach feels empty (and it isn’t, and not empty hungry-empty just empty like a big warehouse). Not good. Can’t get sick right now. Have an exam to write on Sunday and a lot of studying to do before that exam.
That’s your lot for the day. The world just swayed away again…
Saturday to Today and music.
Saturday:
So psyched! Football was back on! That is, team, not international, football was back on! Arsenal were back on, facing Sunderland away. Come on!
No.
Arsenal lost 1-0 and that was that day.
Had been pumped up since morning. Had put on my Arsenal away-shirt. Had done it all…
Before the football we, Camilla and I, had managed to go grocery shopping. Never a good lead up to something bad.
Sunday:
Mew, live in concert. Fantastic show. Four things about the night, apart from the whole fantastic music experience, stand out though:
- Before the show we, Camilla, AK37 (a much lesser and therefore better weapon) and I went out to dinner. The dinner was good and when we got the check we noticed that they had forgotten to charge us for two beers, a glass of water (yes, you read it correctly, a glass of water! For which they charge!) and a glass of wine. Since alcohol is pretty expensive in Sweden the amount of those three items would have been about 35% of the whole bill. And, since the service was utter crap we decided to pay up, not mentioning the forgotten and walk away! Ha!
- Mew has an absolutely fantastic drummer!
- The PA-system used at the venue must have been made in order to suffice in a venue three times the first venue’s, our venue’s, size. Super loud! And no, it’s not just me getting old!
- After the show AK37 found 200 SEK (50$/20€) on the ground outside the venue. Kind as she is we shared her findings.
All in all a pretty nice day which apart from the concert also included some studying.
Monday:
More studying but I also managed a trip to Freeport (an outlet of all sorts, of sort) where I got my self a new, way too high, or thick, pillow.
Tuesday/Today:
Been to school and now I’m studying. Taking a break to give you tha shizzle.
On a music note (ha!), I have been mailing back and forth with a video director/old friend about maybe doing something together. Comes down to money, as it always does. As far as recording the new album is concerned, I’m still waiting verdict on the whens and wheres of bass-recording.
The Friday that KG called.
Friday, and oh what a Friday!
What have I done? Nothing! Nothing, I scream! I scream! (I scream, I scream, I scream for ice cream! As the old TriumfGlass slogan goes.) But, I got a phone call today. A phone call with a date. February 5:th. Yes folks, that is the date!
KG called me and said that the renovation/re-modelling of his studio has been postponed from Dec 1:st to Feb 5:th. Good news! And, as I am a man who take my signs-sent seriously (not, however, this time it fit) I think it’s not more than fair, to you all, my super avid fans, to say that the album, the new album, of which there is a title (which I haven’t shared with you yet, or… I might have, but don’t remember having, and I’m guessing you do not remember being gifted that title if I have so) I won’t share. Not yet. But it’s a stunning title. You’ll be stunned. Put your phaser on stun! (And no, I do not med the guitar FX-pedals.)
Letter of resignation.
Last night I sent in my letter of resignation, or more; my e-mail of resignation. As of 20100101 I have no job, or more, since I’ve studied for the last year and a half, I have no place of employment (and no place to earn extra money).
So why the resignation? Why give up an employment in these hard times?
Well, the company, my company (soon former company) lost the contract we had, so there is no place for me to work (if I don’t want to change work-place, and perhaps also type of work… which I don’t).
So on December 19 and 20 I do my last shifts.
It’s the end of an era, for me at least.
I started working at this place, or at least at this company, on the 24:th of June 1999.
Man, over 10 years.
Moving on.
I don’t know what I’ll be doing instead, apart from my studies and my music that is. If anyone has any work for a security guard/musician/philosophy student then I’m your man! Send me an e-mail and offer me millions. It could be anything in the lines of guarding a guitar while arguing for it or maybe thinking about writing a song about a guard. I can do it all!
Here’s to letting go of the old, and embracing the new, whatever it may be, and al the time!
Sjugge* says logo-headache…
… I agree. Still, here’s some of the places where you can get my album ‘The Anger’. (Just a bit of a reservation; I have not compiled this list, just stolen the picture from digital distributor, some of the places below may not have my album… their loss!)
*Sjugge is Jurgen Verhasselt. You can find him here.
Nightmare loosely used.
A nightmare weekend plus Monday (and Tuesday morning) comes to an end. (And I use the term ‘nightmare’ kind of loosely here. Still, I want to emphasise what a crap couple of days these have been.)
And why have they been so crap?
Well I worked, extra work, guard work, on Saturday and Sunday. Hauling my ass up in the middle of the night (at 0510h) and then working 12h shifts. Madness, I tell you. Madness. On Monday Camilla went off to some course thingy. She has to be there for three days. I drove here there. So for that I also had to get up super early.
But, couldn’t you just have went back to bed when you got home, or at the very least just laid down on the sofa, in-front of the TV and just kicked it?
No.
Why?
Well, I had an exam to write. A 24h exam. The worst form of exam ever.
You get the questions via Internet at 0000h and have to hand them in at the following 0000h (at the latest). I hate this kind of exam. I truly hate it. Hate it with a passion.
Ok, but this morning, why was that crap?
Well, it’s once again because I had to get up early. Camilla as you now know is at that course thingy. I had a lecture at 1000h… and The Boo, the dog, needed his morning stroll.
But tomorrow… ahh tomorrow.
Tomorrow I’m going to sleep untill the day after tomorrow.
Blame Canada?
Thierry from Canada writes:
Hello Tomas,
I know I promised you a picture of your cd in Toronto a long time ago – here it is! See, bigger than the CN Tower!
Tack again for the cd!
Thierry
Here’s the thing, the answer prompted by the question in the headline, no, I won’t blame Canada (for the delay in picture sending)! Just glad to get the picture at all. And more, Thierry shares first name with one of my favourite football players ever!
So, here’s Thierry’s pic!

Titel of blog post…
I’ve been to work all day. And I mean all day!
My phone (or the alarm on it) rang (or whatever it does… I think it’s a harp-like sound) at 0511h (Yes that’s right: 0511h, why set your alarm to whole hours, half hours or even quarters? Never gotten that).
Shift started at 0600h and ended at 1800h. That time has ben rather evenly divided by running around empty office spaces/workshops and answering phones and managing security alarm systems.
I’m so tired I don’t know my own name. (That’s not true, it’s Blark… Blark Bent.)
Camilla’s making here world-famous artichoke/mozzarella pizza, which is always a treat, and after that I think I’ll crash. Have an early morning tomorrow aswell. Not as early though. Starting an hour later, and will only be driving and walking tomorrow… and ‘only’ for 11h.
Picture from snowy Finland!
The give-away winners pictures, the ones I request that they send after they’ve received my CD, are now dropping in few and far between. Still, when they come it’s a blast! This picture, the one below, is from Finland, from Henri Poikolainen. He got his CD in early August but then waited until the snow fell, in his native Hyvinkää (at least I think where the picture is taken) to get the right look and feel of the picture. nice!
Thanks Henri!

Give-away given away!
As you might have seen on the sticky-post (WordPress-lingo for post that stays at the top of the page all the time) above, or on the page 1:st!, I have now put a time frame on the ‘The Anger’ give-away. Everyone, in every country that has not yet been claimed still has the chance to get my album for free, with unique cover art, but only up until November 30:th at 2359h. Just mail me.
I’m doing this, the time frame thing, for three reasons.
1. It’s been like 50 days since a country was claimed.
2. I am planning a little something for christmas (more on that as December’s nearer)…
and
3. … after christmas comes new year and in 2010 it’s all about the new album!
Bad weather and fictional objects.
If there is a weather associated with the town in which I live, the town of The Götet, El Gotembürgo, Göteborg, it would be the weather experienced today. The clouds flying as near to the ground a possible without being a mist. And there dense as hell aswell. It’s not really raining but the air is so ‘wet’ it feels like it is. And just when you think it can’t get any more depressing; here come the snow. But it’s too hot (and in that not saying that it’s hot… not at all) so the flakes just melt and make the ground more wet.
I hate the wet.
Had a lecture on Amie L. Thomasson and Roman Ingarden today, on fictional objects (kind of). It really did my head in.As does my latest iPhone app-purchase: Fling! I know I am going to read about those furry balls all night (and don’t get any ideas about dirty comments) since I’ve played with them all evening (I am warning you; don’t!).
I am hoping to be able to present some music news to you all soon. Still waiting for the bass-recording to commence. When it does I’ll post, and Twitter, stuff on it like a mad man, like a mad man I tell you (or more; write to you).
Wanted to end this post with a nice picture, but no nice picture was found. Sorry…
The Thesis.
Now; it’s official! I’ve gotten the highest grade possible on my bachelors thesis! And, as promised, I will share the thesis with you. Share it so you all can read it. Read it and get shared some of the sunshine in which I am basking now… kind of.
But, and there is always a but, I have to fix a few things first. Just want to make sure it is as good as it can be before you all read it. And you will read it, oh yes, you will read it. For if you do not, I will strike upon the, and you will feel like stricken upon like stricken upon for not reading, eth and henceforth…
I will note all the changes I make from the graded paper.
Still, feel happy for me. I know I do, sort of… (Can’t help but to think that there is something fishy about my grade, that I have been given it out of pity or something…)
The title of the thesis is:
Is Fully Informed Better than Cast in Oblivion?
So look out for that!
Ending with a picture of John Rawls. The man behind the ‘cast in oblivion’ part.

Berlin Picture Post…
So Berlin.
How was it?
Well… it was good.
Let me show you:

The Alexanderplatz and Fernsehturm view from our hotel room.

Coffee at Kaffe Mitte.

Breakfast at Balzac Coffee.

Seeing Sony Center.

Ice cream in Potsdam.

All this in pretty shitty weather.

Dinner at Vapiano.

A walk along The East Side Gallery. A stretch of the Berlin Wall now turned art exhibition.

Loads of graffiti and run down buildings in the old East-Berlin city center.

Off course we saw a Trabbi, both painted and real.

Coffee at Barcomi’s.

Dinner at best, and hardest to find, vegetarian restaurant, ever; Cookies Cream!

The war lurks around…

Beer at Erdbeer.
And then, after Dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant called Monsieur Wong and ice cream at Häagen Dasz we went home.
‘The Anger’ on Spotify!
Don’t know when it happened, I’ve been abroad you see (and yes they have The Internet abroad but no, I did not follow events on it at all… busy vacationing you see), but my album, ‘The Anger’, is now up on Spotify!

Hating rain, grasping time, taking flight.
Man I hate the rain.
I really do hate it.
And it’s been pouring down… all day.

During this mornings walk with The Boo, who during unfortunate weather like rain turns into a sponge, his coat of fur holding a million times its own weight in water, I almost freaked out. Almost. Always controlled (never in control). I thought to myself: No. I won’t go to school. I won’t go out!
But I did.
Before school Rob came by. He did it to pick up the last of the drum files, so that he can have a listen, and do a little fixing, before we go int bass-recording mode. Not far off now. And, although the recording of this album is moving along slowly, oh so slowly, it’s nothing compare to the recording of the last one. Don’t expect this one to take two and a half years to finish.
We, Rob and I, also talked a little bit about the physical record, the one to be printed and pressed; how it’s going to look, what it can cost and so on.
Then: Barry Dainton-lecture. Time-perception.
Now: Got some packing to do. Camilla and I are leaving for Berlin tomorrow.
Olle Olsson…
Yesterday, my sisters, and in some manner our family-, cat left us.
He will be dearly missed but mostly remembered.
Han ‘e en go:sse!

Take outs from the past few days.
I bid good Sunday night to you all!
A Sunday where I should have been studying (more, as I’ve done a bit of studying but need to do a bit more, especially reading, before tomorrow Barry Dainton-lecture) but relaxing got in its way. (I know I’ve said this on my Twitter but not a lot of people follow me on Twitter so I can say it again; intelligent stuff like that bares repeating!)
The weekend has been all about taking it chill. Last night Camilla and I were out with friends. Having superb Indian cuisine; going to an ok, not more, movie. (And as a follow-up, tonight Camilla and me are going to watch ‘Låt den Rätte Komma In‘. Have not seen it and have high expectations.)
That’s about it. Glad Arsenal won yesterday, looking forward to Berlin on Tuesday.
