Yesterday, Today and the Internet.

Sunday was a bit of an off day. Taking it chill. Cleaning a bit around the apartment. Walking the dog. Then Camilla came home from her weekend away. Nice to have her home again. Can’t really sleep alone. The Bo was also thrilled over her arrival.

Today started with a visit to the dentist. (For you following me on Twitter this is a bit of a re-hash but there you go.) I hate going to the dentist. Don’t know if it’s the lack of control or the infliction of pain (maybe a combo). It’s also a slap in the face when they say: So, now that we’ve violated your mouth until the point of bloodshed it’s only fair you get to give us something. How about 750 sek?

Won’t have to go back there for another year though. 750 sek… oh man.

When I got home I made myself a lamp. Quite satisfied with the result:

LAMPA

I wrote when I posted the news about my album, ‘The Anger’, getting a worldwide digital release on October 1:st, that the album could find itself onto the digital platforms earlier (and later) that. It now seem as though it has. Consumers in the U.K. (or maybe the whole of europe since the post prices in both £ and €) can now purchase the album via play.com.

Feeling a bit ill…

The day in words and pictures.

Today has been a crap day with loads of high notes. Sound weird? Well, it isn’t.
I’ve been stressed out all day but all I’ve done today has been good. It would have been great if Camilla were home, but she’s not.

Yesterday Camilla left for her sisters, she’s going to spend the weekend there; flying a plane, going to some culture festival, riding and what not. The Boo and I are back here in GBG. We couldn’t (and can’t) come because he can’t come. Camilla’s sister has two cats. Bosse like cats. We just do not know in which way; friendly or tasty… Camillas sisters cats do not like The Bo, or maybe they would like to eat him… don’t know.

So Bosse and I are home alone.

The day started with a nice morning dog walk and then I had nothing to do for several hours. Then all went… late. I took a ride on the excercise bike. When that was done I was already late. This because I had to take The Boo for a long walk, because he was going to my mothers for a couple of hours because at 1700h I was going to rehearsals.

Well, the walk took too long aswell. So I ended up late for rehearsals. (Still, I was the first one there so no real harm done.)
When walking The Boo I found some cool street art:

folkabuss

Spray templates can be cool when used this way.

Rehearsals did not really start untill 1.30h after they were supposed to. We had some technical issues. We were going to record the session, time was not on our side so in the end we just got to record 5 of the 10 songs we were supposed to. Ok though. Also my guitarist KG called in sic, so we were one short for the day.
Here’s todays rehearsal pic:

When gotten home I found a nice picture in my mail. It is from Ecuador and the ‘The Anger’-giveaway winner there.
Here you have it:

ecuador_magacha_p

That’s about it. Tomorrow is all about football and relaxing since Saturdays rehearsals were canceled.

Rehearsal nearing recording…

Today the band and I rehearsed for a bit. We need to get things straight, and still have a bit to go… were getting there though. We tried out three new songs, since we’ve thrown three away. The new album will be an album of 10. 10 rock songs. Rock.

I only managed to get two pics.
This one:

Look closely and you’ll see Brandt, KG and Chrille. Also this pic of the car ride home in Martins mothers car, in it: Martins favourite album:

So… Yeah… Hmm…

Great days!

Days like this one are great.
Days when you don’t really have to do anything.
Sure, I have that little thing to do with my bachelors thesis and a bit of a read before tomorrows lecture. As far as the thesis goes I could say, and ask: What’s another day? However, that would not be entirely true. A great part about studying philosophy is that a lot of studying is done thinking, and that can be done anywhere! I did some, walking the dog this morning for example. (The thought, for those of you wondering, is regarding what Rawls actually means when he says fairness and if this fairness is too strong a criteria for impartiality.) As for the reading before tomorrows lecture: It’s an afternoon lecture! I will read what I need to read tomorrow morning.

So today I have not been doing much. Walking the dog, as I said, made dinner, mailed some ‘The Anger’-promos… nice.

How was your day?

5:th cover-series. Exclusive!

Yes! I am done with the 5:th cover-series. The 5:th set of covers going on my albums to be sent out as part of my world wide give-away. This one is super exclusive!
Cover-series 1-3 contained 6 covers each, cover-series 4 contained 7 covers. This 6:th series only contains 2!

Here they are:

cover_5

I’ve in doing these covers, and the 7:th cover for cover-series 4, found a new technique to work within, so to speak. So maybe other stuff will have this feel aswell. Now, I do not have any takers on these covers. So come on: Get mailing!

All about all!

So, I’m back.
I’ve been submerged in the books for a while now. I’m sorry about that. Sorry for you; my avid readers. Not getting your daily fix of me. Now that I have made you a Tomas-Junkie. I’m like a drug dealer. But I’m not at my corner, and my beeper seems to be off… Sorry for me for the submerged in books part. Been studying my ass off! (I have a Twitter-feed though, and I have been Twittering some. Need your fix? I’m on that corner… the corner of Twitter St. and Some Ave.)

So today I had my exam. Still, that was only part 1 of three of things I really need to get out of the way. Part 2 is to fix spelling errors, and more, in my bachelors thesis, part 3, is another exam. Come on school!

I’m excited about the upcoming week though. Rehearsals! Amazing! We, the band and I, have been able to book three (yes three) rehearsals. I’ll get you pis of that.

Also: I have a cool new app for my iPhone. So expect a lot of these photos from now on:

Give me some time. I’ll get better and better and better…

Arsenal won today and Arsenal won mid-week. So I’m a happy camper.

Listening, ambivalence, weather, brain, summer job.

Sitting here with Khonnor’s An Ape is Loose from his album Handwriting in my headphones… That album has not aged as quickly as I thought it would when I bought it. Real dreamy stuff.

Today is a bit of an off day. The ambivalence of feeling both stressed and bored at the same time.

The best weather is one where you can comfortably where a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and not be to warm or to cold. We’ve had that weather in Gothenburg for the past couple of days. It’s like an old man I bump in to from time to time, while I’m walking the Boo and he’s walking his dog, said: One feels really privileged when walking around in this weather. So true.

Just saw a documentary on the brain and how it works… man Alzheimer’s, not a fan.

(MGMT The Youth in my headphones now. Using the iTunes mixes feature. Working ok.)

I’ve lost my summer job. The company I work for, in the summer, have lost the deal they had with the company where I was stationed. Can’t really see myself be stationed anywhere else. So when I say I’ve lost my job I twist the truth a bit. (It feels like it though.) I’m going to quit. Really do not know what to do for money next summer. If you’ve got a job for me let me know.

4′s out, 5′s in!

Yes.
The last cover, cover number 7, of the 4:th cover series gets shipped today. To Diego in Peru! And since the campaign has been going so well I kind of figured that the 4:th series would all be shipped, aswell. So I gave myself a head start on the 5:th one and here it is:

cover_5

Now, as hinted, I really do not have any takers on this one yes but just mail me, ask for my CD, and a sixth or a seventh, depending on how I cut it up, will be yours! For more info: click the 1:st!-button on the menu bar at the top of this page.

Picture from Singapore!

As I can’t say it better myself, I’ll leave you in the hands of TJ from Singapore:
Here’s what he writes.

“hi tomas!
thanks for your wonderful music. it’s been on repeat play since it arrived mid-last week.
here’s your cd on a sightseeing tour in a historic part of sg. it is pictured in front of a temple, where it found the festivities surrounding the hungry ghost month (which is now) “spooky yet unfathomably fascinating”. :D
warm regards, tj”

4:th cover, cut and paste…

I have now gotten my lazy ass out of the wagon, or onto it, or whatever… and loaded the pictures in my digital camera up to my computer. This is what I want to show you:

First the 4:th cover (series) all cut up:

cover_4_all

If you have followed my cutting and pasting you’ll see that I cut this one up a little different. I wanted to get the, in my opinion, best parts as covers. I also did something new with the pieces left over (instead of just throwing them away): I glued them together to make a 7:th cover in the cover series. It got a bit of a special look:

cover_4_seven

This 7:th one, this extra special one, will be shipped to Peru shortly.

For more info on what the hell I am talking about, click the 1:st!-button on the menu bar at the top of the page.

The release is as before digital only, so the record will be available on all major, minor and whatever, digital vendors around the globe.

Sorry excuse for a blog post.

Hello everybody!
How’s life?
Good? Good.

Not much going on in my life. Nothing much more than the usual getgo.
I’m in and out of lectures and stuff…
Ok, it’s not much of a getgo, but it’s hard. After a pretty soft summer it’s tough to get into the swing of things with school. A lecture of three hours feels like a whole days work. Luxury problem, I know, still a problem though. Need to get my act together. First exam next Saturday and taking two courses at the same time.

Bitch bitch bitch… I know.

Another thing: can’t find my camera! (Not true, I can probably find it, can’t be bothered with getting up out of the sofa.) Why do I need my camera? Well, I have a couple of pictures I want to share with you. I will… later.

Man, really need to stop now. This is the crappiest post ever.

36h + 1 day.

Really ought to study. I will. Just have to write this post first. (And please take the ‘have to’ lightly… It’s not like I’m obsessed or anything.)

First thing first. Right now, as I write this, I have Burial in my ears. Man, can’t get enough of the ‘Untrue’-record. Hearing it makes me want to go back to London. It really is my favourite city in the whole world, or at least of the cities I’ve been in and, granted, they are few… Still, not much tops London. (Not meaning the English metaphorical ‘suicide’ way.)

Ok. So this past weekend. 1000 km in a car. A crayfish party. (No, I did not have any… so for me I guess it was your average party… with fish-smell.) A name-giving ceremony. Left home at 0920h Saturday morning. Returned at 2300h Sunday night. I have one (one!) picture of the whole thing:

rest_stop

This is a rest stop outside of Örebro. My sisters car. Bosses water bowl and a cottage, or so they (whoever they are) would like you to think, for you see; the cottage is a house with toilets in it. The smell was horrendous.

So the weekend pretty much flew by. Although I did not feel anything flying whilst sitting in the car, driving the car Sunday night. Man the road between Örebro and Göteborg is a pretty tedious journey. (As I’ve written about in a fairly recent post, scroll down if you want to now.)

Monday was supposed to be about studying. Instead I spent the better part of the day wrestling with Snow Leopard, Logic Pro 9 and Arturia.
I’ve almost got it now.

The pics just keep on rolling in!

Another pic in!
This time from Ben in England.

He says: ‘I’m enjoying your album, definitely got a Scandinavian feel to it, which is always good. My favourite tracks are travel as i wait, a pillow for my head and an echo plays my counterpart. Glad to say i didn’t find any of them stinkers! Definitely a good debut.

So no stinkers then! Good! I’m glad!

Here’s Ben:

The Netherlands pic in!

It’s beginning to be quite the collection. Pictures from all over the world. People from all over the world. The one from the Netherlands comes from a bit of a fantasy mystery man; Robbie de Bruin!

Here he is:

For more info on my give-away; where I give away copies of my debut album, ‘The Anger’, to the first person from any country in the world to email me, go to the 1:st!-page by clicking where it says so on the menu bar at the top of this site.

A post for a post’s sake.

No post yesterday (all though in my defence I did start one).
Almost no post today…
Saturday and Sunday will only see minor, if any, updates.

Loads to do. That’s the thing.

I want to tell you about the fourth cover series and what I have done with it… and swine-flu. (Not what I’ve done with swine-flu, but the whole swine-flu-thing.)

Tomorrow I will be doing some Twittering though so follow me there if you need your fix. And I guess you need to see me, in all my awesomeness, and stuff. So I’ll leave you with this, the most recent pic of yours truly. Not at all flattering. I am putting myself out there. In a social-realism kind of way. Be sure to comment on the hair, be sure to do that… and the shirt.

Psycho-physics leads to swine-flu! (No!)

Hello reader.
Nice of you to drop by.
Nice indeed.

So, school started today. A new semester, a new subject: Theoretical Philosophy.
W e had a run-through of the courses were going to have this semester; an introduction to theoretical philosophy, non-analytical philosophy, analytical philosophy, classical problems, and logic. All seems rather nice. Were quite a big class but I think it will be all right.
Tomorrow sees the first lecture of the first subject: Introduction to Theoretical Philosophy – Psycho-physics (really do not know if that is the correct English term, or even if there is an English term for it; psycho-physics…)

Got some really nice music news from Rob today which I will share with you as soon as I can. Do not want to jinx anything.

More studies: Got my Bachelors Thesis in return today. Don’t want to jinx that either so all I will say is that it seems to have gone well. When all is set in stone, reported, registered, filed, signed, sealed and delivered I’ll let you know.

Feeling a bit soar in my throat… Swine Flu? (Just had to get it in there somewhere.)
