Band-Hunting: one more member hunted down.

Yes folks. As I told you yesterday; I am putting together a band. I also told you about Thomas Brandt, the former LOK (Spotify link here) and Kneget guitarist as well as video director for, among others, my old band Punk of Country (Internet is the shit! Here, under the link prior, you all have the photos from that video shoot! The video itself must have gotten lost in the youtube.com abyss…), saying yes. Late last night I got a second confirmation: KG! Yepp, the Navid Modiri & Gudarna- Kris Gordon- (Spotify link hereGentle Act Incident- and solo- guitarist/musician as well as studio owner, will join up! A good addition in my book.

Two down and a couple more to go.

Putting a band together.

I’ve gone back and fourth over ideas on my new, my next, record. I’ve presented idea after idea for Rob, changing the concept, the thinking, the mode and mood. We even started to record the album. We did one song called One Fear but that recording has since been put in the trash.

This has got to change, and since I now am back to square on, back to my first idea, I will present it to you.

I am as of tonight trying to put a band together, find some rehearsal space and some time to rehears. When we have rehearsed for a while we are going to record, with Rob, somewhere. I’ve asked a few of my friends, and will probably ask a few more, to join me. I have gotten one yes so far, from the superb Thomas Brandt.

I’m thinking it will be a pretty straight forward Rock-Band record… which off course it will not.

Spring in Göteborg, spring in my mind.

Info…? Part 2.

So, now I’ve gotten a text from Rob. Are there any news, any info? No. The guy he had to get a hold of today in order to learn something didn’t want to be gotten hold of… kind of. If I got it right, the guy did not answer his phone, or was out, or both, or something.

Don’t you just love these ramblings of mine?

No?

You must admit that this had turned into quite the exciting series?

No?

Ok.

Struggeling and Thrash and no info.

I am really struggeling with this thesis of mine and today I uttered the forbidden words to Camilla “I am afraid that I will not finish my thesis in time for hand in…”

I still hope that I will be finished. There’s a good possibility that I will be finished. I said it just to get it out there and to give myself a kick in the ass. Still… I said it.

I’ve been working on it most of today, as most of any day. I have the greater scheme of it structured in my head and what I am doing now is filling in the blanks. Sounds pretty straight forward and easy but it is not.

On a completely other topic:
If you have some time over and want to here some good old thrash music in Swedish you ought to pop on over to my good friends in Zombiekrig’s MySpace. Two songs saw the light of day (or perhaps the dark of night) yesterday (or night) and an EP is on it’s way. Enjoy.

On yet another topic (the differnece between this one and the previous being minor in comparison to between the first and second one where the difference was major… and no music word pun intended).
I have not heard back from Rob yet about the text he sent me Yesterday. So I have not got any news or info there… (could just as easily have shut up, or not written that, couldn’t I?)

Back to the books!

Info…?

Just got a text from Rob. It contained some good news… well not really news. It contained some good… info. Or at least some potentially good info… or some info about something that if it goes our way can be potentially good. I can’t really talk about what it is (one of the reasons being that i obviously does not seem to have the slightest of clues myself) but I’m mentioning it because it has to do with music, with my music, and I do not want all of you, all of my millions of screaming fans, to think that nothing is going on, that I have retired, and now waiting for some mega-cash offer so I will make a comeback…
I’ll tell you when I know more!

Now: Down to the laundry room… or cabbin!

Feeling Better.

No post yesterday.
I was too mad. Too disappointed. After the game. The Arsenal – Manchester United game which ended in bitter defeat. The season is over.
When I went to bed I could not sleep. It was either the game, the big cup of coffee I drank during the game or the fact that I had barely been up for 12h when I decided to call it a night. Tossing and turning the result. It got me perspective but, and I’ve already touched on this on my Twitter thing, it was perhaps the worst of perspectives. The sum of yesterday, however did the trick.

Firstly we have the Kenyan fan who at half time left the bar, where he had until then watched the game, went home and hung himself. Naturally a severe tragedy. I love the Arsenal but hanging!? And at half time!? I admit that we weren’t at our best and that 5 goals, in one half, against a defending, counter-attacking United, is a monumental task but stranger things have happened. For example: Liverpool FC has, and I know you’re not going to believe me, once upon a time, long long long long time ago, won the League!

Secondly we have the Arsenal Striker Nicklas Bendtner who decided to go drown his sorrows in a bar, and so did with the mere addition of getting thrown out… wearing his pants around his ankles… at 0400h… and all while getting his picture taken.
He later apologised. So let that be that.

Thirdly: Watching the better chunk of the Chelsea – Barcelona game. Barcelona had one shot on goal, it came in the 92:nd minute. Chelsea had five or six clear cut penalty claims dismissed by the referee. The game ended 1-1. Barca through. Chelsea severely robbed. I’ve never seen such bad refereeing. Not that I favour Chelsea in any way. A repeat of last years final between United and Chelsea would have been a victory for English football, of which I am a huge fan, but United -Barca won’t be a bad game either. I think United will be the first team to win the trophy two years in a row… Unless Henry plays.

I would also like to apologise to Glenn Strömberg [in Swedish] and Henrik Strömblad [in Swedish] (Commentators of the Arsenal – United game here in Sweden) for calling you really bad things on my Twitter.

So now I’m feeling better. Got some real, good, perspective. My life can move on, and I am all ready looking forward to next season! When we, as all seasons, will outperform Liverpool.

Football-optimism and music-happiness!

I’m feeling optimistic today. Don’t know why really. Not that I do not have anything to be optimistic about but the day seems quite average as a whole. Maybe it’s because of the game, or perhaps I should write: THE GAME, to be played tonight. Second leg semi-final of the UEFA Champions League with Arsenal vs. Manchester United, the Gunners trailing the MU.S.A. with 1-0.

Now, the next thing: I know I did a post on this a while back but one can not speak too often about this guy, Kutiman. He takes youtube.com clips of people playing instruments or singing and then cuts it up into new music. The song below is my favourite. Enjoy!

Impartiality.

Today I’ve been reading. My companion has been the excellent Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and the entry on Impartiality. I needed to get a new perspective on it. Why? My bachelors thesis is on the “conflict” over impartiality John Rawls and David Gauthier between. We’ll see how it all goes. I’m a bit stressed out actually. May 26:th is the date in my mind. The the thesis must be handed in. It will be done. Oh yes, it will be done.

Here’s a picture of Rawls (for some reason…):

johnrawls

Other than that not much else has happened. There’s been a lot of the same: dog walking, laundry doing and so on. Tomorrow does not seem to turn up any more exciting. That’s the way it is supposed to be I guess. I am after all studying, full time, from my home and when doing so that is what you are supposed to be doing, so I am going to do that.

Sunday, guitar and a bad tackle.

Today is Sunday, and like most Sundays it has been a slow one. Haven’t really gotten going on my thesis (as I said I would do) but tomorrow is Monday and on Mondays the week start and when the week start so does work.

I have tried to be a little creative and played guitar, hoping my strumming would en up a new song but one can’t force these things; new songs. I found some cool chords but that’s about it. It might end up something, it might not.

I used to be able to write all the time but now, when all the songs for the next album are done, I really do not have the motivation, nor the need… which is strange. I will have to analyse this further. Maybe I just need a kick somewhere.

Anyone see the Joey Barton tackle on Xavi Alonso in today’s Liverpool-Newcastle game? What a complete and utter cunt he is. Honestly!? Please FA, never let him on a football pitch again. Let his 347:th chance be his last!

Streetart, dog walk and Bon Iver.

Today has been a very productive day, yet nothing has really been done!
Woke up, walked the dog, shopped for some food, had breakfast, went and got my hair cut, walked the dog, had dinner, watched Arsenal humiliate Portsmouth, walked the dog, had some food, watched TV.

Tomorrow it’s back on the horses back, and the horse then being my bachelors thesis… so it’s back on my bachelors thesis back. (You can now all start imagining me sitting on a stack of papers wearing a cowboy outfit.)

As I said in a previous post: there is, on my view, good and bad streetart.
Here are three examples, two good and one bad, of spray-can street art and using templates:

This first one is an example of what happens when idiots get hold of spray-cans:

This next one is, not thought provoking but one can really make up some stories around it:

This final one is thought provoking:

Maybe these two examples of good streetart isn’t great streetart but I take pictures of them as I find them. All there three examples were found here on my Hisingen [In Swedish].

And just for the hell of it, since I am posting so many pictures today anyway and since it seems like all that I have been doing has been walking the dog, I’ll throw in a picture of him from our evening stroll:

Today’s music tip is one song and one song only:
Woods by Bon Iver from the Blood Bank Ep [All Spotify links]. In this age of over use of vocoders and stuff this guy shows, in excess, how you can use a vocoder and still make it work. Take note! (Not from the guy under the vocoder-link, he’s an idiot, but from Bon Iver.)

May 1:st.

May 1:st and the sun is shining like the sun has shined for a few days now. May 1:st and Camilla has left for Stockholm for a few days leaving the Boo and I to ourselves. May 1:st and what I should be doing is studying or being out in the sun, instead I am cleaning the apartment. May 1:st and I’ve just discovered The Sone Roses debut album [Spotify link] from 1989. May 1:st of 2009 and I am twenty years too late or the world is twenty years too early, there is something really wrong with either and both. May 1:st, another May 1:st, there has been a few in my life.
Tomorrow it’ll be May 2:nd and on May 2:nd there is football.
