No post yesterday.
I was too mad. Too disappointed. After the game. The Arsenal – Manchester United game which ended in bitter defeat. The season is over.
When I went to bed I could not sleep. It was either the game, the big cup of coffee I drank during the game or the fact that I had barely been up for 12h when I decided to call it a night. Tossing and turning the result. It got me perspective but, and I’ve already touched on this on my Twitter thing, it was perhaps the worst of perspectives. The sum of yesterday, however did the trick.
Firstly we have the Kenyan fan who at half time left the bar, where he had until then watched the game, went home and hung himself. Naturally a severe tragedy. I love the Arsenal but hanging!? And at half time!? I admit that we weren’t at our best and that 5 goals, in one half, against a defending, counter-attacking United, is a monumental task but stranger things have happened. For example: Liverpool FC has, and I know you’re not going to believe me, once upon a time, long long long long time ago, won the League!
Secondly we have the Arsenal Striker Nicklas Bendtner who decided to go drown his sorrows in a bar, and so did with the mere addition of getting thrown out… wearing his pants around his ankles… at 0400h… and all while getting his picture taken.
He later apologised. So let that be that.
Thirdly: Watching the better chunk of the Chelsea – Barcelona game. Barcelona had one shot on goal, it came in the 92:nd minute. Chelsea had five or six clear cut penalty claims dismissed by the referee. The game ended 1-1. Barca through. Chelsea severely robbed. I’ve never seen such bad refereeing. Not that I favour Chelsea in any way. A repeat of last years final between United and Chelsea would have been a victory for English football, of which I am a huge fan, but United -Barca won’t be a bad game either. I think United will be the first team to win the trophy two years in a row… Unless Henry plays.
I would also like to apologise to Glenn Strömberg [in Swedish] and Henrik Strömblad [in Swedish] (Commentators of the Arsenal – United game here in Sweden) for calling you really bad things on my Twitter.
So now I’m feeling better. Got some real, good, perspective. My life can move on, and I am all ready looking forward to next season! When we, as all seasons, will outperform Liverpool.
