MTB and small upper body work out.

Several years ago I bought a cool bike, a Scott Racing mountain bike. (This is this years model, mine is blue, and I think I have an aluminium frame, not carbon, mine might be the 2004 model.) The plan was to ride the hell out of that bike, jumping in the woods over trees and what not. That did not end up to be the case. Last summer when I took it back to the bicycle shop for a check up, correcting gears, tightening brakes and so on the guy at the shop said to me “This bike hasn’t run very many miles.” How true he was.

Today, that all changed. Camilla and I took our mountain bikes (She also has a Scott, a Contessa, also of an older model than the one depectid under the link) and went up to a park/recreation/woodsy kind of area near by called Svarte Mossen (might translate to Black small lake; The Black Small Lake park and recreation and woodsy area… yes, that sound about right). There they have miles and miles of mountain bike friendly trails which we rode for about an hour stopping midway to catch our breaths. Incidentally enough we stopped right by some kind of work out area with logs built so that you could lift them, pull up poles etc. I decided to have a small upper body work out (I’m such a dumb ass and I am going to pay for it in tomorrow morning). I only did 3×10 in a sort of a bench press built log and 2×10 sit ups but it is going to hurt.

Oh and one more thing. The word racing add-on to my bikes name; guess how thin, and hard the saddle is on a bike with the word racing added on to the bikes name, and guess how the ass of a 120kg+ guy who haven’t ridden his bike for quite some time, and then doing it for a long while in heavy terrain, feels. Tomorrow my ass is going to feel like the ass of that guy. Funny stuff.

I was going to put my WordPress auto post thing on 0808h as well but I figured many people would do the same thing. Slowing down the net, perhaps crashing a server. Not that it’s that big a deal (the time part not the server crashing part). It happens twelve times every century; when year, month and day align, by number name at least. And not only that, since time is a human creation, and a not so exact one at that (think leap year), it’s not all that mystical.

One cool thing though is that both adidas and nike have major sneaker releases today.
